In 2018, I became involved in this housing project on our City-owned land. As the president of my North Central neighborhood association, I organized our board to write a letter of support for the MidPen 100% affordable project. We strongly advocated that public land should maximize public benefit - our community needs more affordable housing, it is the highest and best use for this site.

Ironically, my first Study Session after being sworn in as the newest City Councilmember, I had the chance to support this project increasing the number of affordable homes from 164 to 225 homes - that is an additional 61 more homes for those who work or live in San Mateo.
