Earlier this month, I helped convene a small and mighty group of child care advocates and experts to write a letter to the Board of Supervisors providing data on the severity of the child care crisis as well as suggestions for emergency relief and support. Our letter was signed by over 35 council members and school board trustees from across the county.
On July 6th, we had the opportunity to meet (virtually) with Supervisors Groom and Pine and to present updated information on the child care situation in our county. Happy to report that their response was very positive and there was strong consensus that child care is essential to our county’s recovery. Our working group came together quickly, and I will be sharing updates on next steps and ways you can get involved!
